Initial Art Advisory Consultation
$1,000
Begin your collecting journey — or bring fresh direction to an existing collection — with Matthew Blong, Miami-based art advisor and founder of Charting Transcendence.
The advisory process begins with a conversation about you: the art that draws your attention, the interests and experiences that shape your taste, and what you hope to bring into your home or collection. We will discuss your aesthetic preferences, budget, available space, and collecting goals, whether you have particular artists in mind or would welcome help discovering where to begin.
This initial consultation takes place by phone or, when possible, through an in-person meeting. It establishes the foundation for an ongoing dialogue, helping Matthew understand which artists, mediums, and approaches might resonate with you.
From there, Matthew will suggest directions to explore and introduce relevant artists and available works. Through conversation, research, and thoughtful recommendations, the advisory process helps you refine your preferences, assess your options, and make informed decisions about acquisitions.
Matthew attends dozens of art fairs each year and holds a master’s degree in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York. He combines this knowledge with independent judgment and close attention to each client’s interests, helping collectors build personal relationships with the art they choose.
Consultation fee: $1,000.
The full consultation fee may be applied as a credit against advisory commissions on artwork purchases made through Charting Transcendence within six months of the consultation.
